Pelagocephalus is a monotypic genus of pufferfish found along the coasts of South Africa and New Zealand. This genus contains only one species: Pelagocephalus marki Heemstra & Smith, 1981, which is also commonly called the rippled blaasop. This species reaches a total length of approximately 12 centimetres (4.7 inches).
