About Pectocarya recurvata I.M.Johnst.
Pectocarya recurvata I.M.Johnst. is a species of flowering plant in the borage family, with the common names curvenut combseed and arched-nut pectocarya. It is native to the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico, where it grows in many types of desert habitat. This plant is an annual herb that grows a slender, rough-haired stem, which is generally upright to erect in form and reaches a maximum height of about 21 centimeters. Its small, pointed linear leaves are alternately arranged along the stem. The inflorescence is a series of flowers, and each individual flower grows on a curved pedicel. Each flower has small green sepals and a rounded white corolla. The fruits are produced in groups of four; they are curved nutlets fringed with flat teeth, and each measures 2.5 to 4 millimeters long.
