About Patalene olyzonaria (Walker, 1860)

Patalene olyzonaria (Walker, 1860), commonly called the juniper-twig geometer, is a species of moth belonging to the family Geometridae. Its known range extends from Quebec and New Hampshire south to Florida, west to Texas, and north back to Wisconsin. This moth has a wingspan measuring between 21 and 25 mm. Adult individuals are active in flight from April through November. The species produces two to three generations each calendar year. The caterpillar larvae of Patalene olyzonaria feed primarily on Juniperus species, occasionally feed on Thuja occidentalis, and may also feed on Pinus.
