About Passiflora coriacea Juss.
Passiflora coriacea, commonly called wild sweet calabash or bat leaved passion flower, is a tropical vine belonging to the passion flower family Passifloraceae. This is a fast-growing species, with distinct two-lobed leaves that resemble bat wings, and produces oval-shaped purple ornamental fruits. The species epithet coriacea comes from the leathery (coriaceous) texture of its leaves. Its yellowish-green flowers are usually 2.5 to 3.5 centimeters wide, and grow in a terminal raceme.
