Parupeneus spilurus, commonly known as the blackspot goatfish, is a species of goatfish. It is native to the western Pacific Ocean, where its range extends from Japan to Australia and New Zealand. It lives on coral reefs and occurs at depths between 10 metres (33 feet) and 80 metres (262 feet). The maximum total length this species can reach is 50 centimetres (20 inches). It is classified as a commercially important species.
