About Parornix devoniella (Stainton, 1850)

Parornix devoniella (Stainton, 1850) has a wingspan of 9–10 mm. The head is whitish, mixed with fuscous coloring. The palpi are white; the apex of the second joint and the median band of the terminal joint are dark fuscous. The forewings are grey, speckled with dark fuscous and whitish. They feature numerous costal strigulae, an indistinct posterior spot in the disc that is preceded by a blackish elongate spot, and suffused dorsal strigulae that are whitish and interrupted by two elongate blackish spots. There is a black apical dot, and the cilia have three full dark fuscous lines. The hindwings are grey. The larva is whitish-green, with a dark green dorsal line, a brown head, and four black spots on the second segment. This species is found across most of Europe; it has not been recorded from the Iberian Peninsula, the Balkan Peninsula, and the Mediterranean islands.
