About Parazacco spilurus (Günther, 1868)

Parazacco is a monospecific genus of freshwater ray-finned fish that belongs to the family Xenocyprididae, which is also known as the East Asian minnows or sharpbellies. The only species in this genus is Parazacco spilurus, commonly called the predaceous chub. This fish is found in China and Vietnam. The International Union for Conservation of Nature has classified Parazacco spilurus as Data Deficient. Parazacco fasciatus, which is currently considered a synonym of P. spilurus, is classified as Least Concern.
