About Paratalanta pandalis Hübner, 1825
Paratalanta pandalis is a moth species belonging to the family Crambidae. It occurs in the Palearctic realm, including Europe. The wingspan of this moth measures 25–29 mm. Its forewings are whitish-yellow, suffused with pale grey toward the costa. The forewing lines are grey; the first line is irregular, while the second is subserrate and sinuate. The orbicular dot and discal mark are grey, and may sometimes be absent. A serrate grey subterminal line forms the edge of a grey-tinged terminal fascia. The hindwings are yellow-whitish. They sometimes have a grey discal dot, and their posterior markings match those of the forewings. The larva ranges from light pinkish-ochreous to dark grey, with a purplish-brown tint. It has a darker dorsal line with pale edges, and bears spots. Depending on location, adult moths fly from June to July. Larvae feed on nettle, Ballota, mint, Origanum vulgare, thyme, Myrica gale, goldenrod, and Vicia sepium.
