Paratalanta hyalinalis (Hübner, 1796) has a wingspan ranging from 28 to 35 millimetres, which equals 1.1 to 1.4 inches. Depending on location, adult moths of this species fly during the months of June to July, and are active after dark. Its larvae are oligophagous, meaning they feed on only a few types of host plants; recorded host foods are nettle, Verbascum thapsus, and Centaurea jacea. This species is distributed across most of Europe, and has also been recorded in North Africa, specifically in Libya.
