Parasyrphus punctulatus (Verrall, 1873) is a hoverfly species native to the Palearctic realm. Its distribution spans from Fennoscandia in the north, south to the Pyrenees and Northern Italy. It occurs in Ireland, extending east through Northern and Central Europe, continuing through European Russia and the Caucasus. From there, it ranges east across Siberia and the Russian Far East to the Pacific coast of Russia, and is also found in Japan, the Himalayas, and Nepal.
