Parapoynx badiusalis, commonly called the chestnut-marked pondweed moth, is a moth species that belongs to the family Crambidae. This species was first described by Francis Walker in 1859. It is native to North America, with confirmed recorded populations in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Manitoba, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Vermont and Wisconsin. Its preferred habitat includes vegetated ponds, marshes, and lakeshores. This moth has an approximate wingspan of 20 mm. Adult moths have been observed in flight between the months of May and September. The larvae of this species feed on plants from the Potamogeton genus.
