About Paraflabellina gabinierei (Vicente, 1975)
Paraflabellina gabinierei is a species of nudibranch. Individuals of this species are translucent white in body color, and grow to a maximum length of 30 millimeters. The tips of this nudibranch's rhinophores, oral tentacles, and tail are covered in a fine dusting of white pigment. The digestive gland contained within the cerata is dark brown, green, or sometimes red, and there is no extra pigment present on the surfaces of the cerata. Its rhinophores feature small annular wrinkles. This species was first described from specimens collected at the islet of La Gabinière, located within Port-Cros National Park, France. After its initial description, it has also been recorded at La Ciotat in France, Antalya in Turkey, and Cadaques in Spain. In terms of ecology, Paraflabellina gabinierei feeds exclusively on hydroids that belong to the genus Eudendrium.
