About Parablennius zvonimiri (Kolombatovic, 1892)

Zvonimir's blenny, scientifically known as Parablennius zvonimiri, is a species of combtooth blenny that occurs in the Mediterranean and Black Seas. This species can grow to a total length of 7 centimetres, which equals 2.8 inches. The identity of the person the specific name of this species honors is not confirmed, but it is generally thought to refer to Demetrius Zvonimir, the Medieval King of Croatia and Dalmatia who reigned from 1075 to 1089. This naming most likely references the region where the type specimen of this species was collected.
