About Parablennius rouxi (Cocco, 1833)
The longstriped blenny, scientifically named Parablennius rouxi (Cocco, 1833), is a species of combtooth blenny. It is found in the northeast Atlantic waters off Portugal, and is also known to occur in the northern Mediterranean. This species can grow to a total length of 8 centimetres, which is equivalent to 3.1 inches. While the person that the specific name of this species was intended to honour was not explicitly specified when the species was described, it is widely thought to be Jean Louis Florent Polydore Roux, a French painter and naturalist who lived from 1792 to 1833.
