About Parablennius parvicornis (Valenciennes, 1836)
The rock-pool blenny, scientifically named Parablennius parvicornis, is a species of combtooth blenny native to the eastern central Atlantic Ocean. This species grows to a maximum total length of 12 centimetres (4.7 inches) measured along the standard length SL. The species gets its common name from its typical habitat: tidal hollows and rock pools. It inhabits sunlit areas between stones and within seaweed thickets. The diet of the rock-pool blenny consists mostly of algae. Its distribution includes Cape Verde, the Canary Islands, Madeira, the Azores, and the coast of West Africa.
