About Parabatozonus lacerticida (Pallas, 1771)

Parabatozonus lacerticida is a spider-hunting wasp species. Adult females reach a body length of 16 to 22 millimeters (0.63 to 0.87 inches), while adult males reach 12.5 to 17 millimeters (0.49 to 0.67 inches). The body of this wasp is mostly black. It has orange antennae, and orange legs that start being orange from the apex of the femora. It also has yellow markings on the orbits, the edge of the pronotum, the scutum, the scutellum, and the second through fourth abdominal terga. Its wings are orange, with a brownish band located on the tips of the forewings. This species has a transpalearctic distribution. It occurs across Europe extending west to Portugal, in North Africa, and in Asia extending east to Japan.
