About Pantilius tunicatus (Fabricius, 1781)

Pantilius tunicatus is a species of bug belonging to the Miridae family. Its distribution covers the Baltic states, Faroe Islands, Finland, Italy, the United Kingdom, Yugoslavia, the Netherlands, Eastern, Central, and Western Europe (with the exception of Portugal), Scandinavia (excluding the high north), the northern Mediterranean, and extends across the Palearctic region to Siberia and northern China. This species feeds on hazel, and individuals are usually found on the lowest branches of hazel plants. Adult individuals have a brown pronotum, green legs, and antennae that are shorter than their body. Adults of this species do not emerge until September.
