About Palirisa cervina Moore, 1865

Palirisa cervina is a moth species that belongs to the Eupterotidae family. It was first formally described by Frederic Moore in 1865. This moth is distributed across Southeast Asia, with recorded locations including Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, India, and Taiwan. The wingspan of adult Palirisa cervina measures approximately 104 millimeters. Adults closely resemble the related species Palirisa lineosa, but differ in color and wing patterning: Palirisa cervina is pale grey brown, and only the medial and postmedial rufous lines are present on its forewings. A waved line sits beyond the postmedial line, and the area between the postmedial line and this waved line is darker in color. On the hindwings, there are three faint obsolescent lines, and no outer line is present.
