About Palio nothus (G.Johnston, 1838)

Palio nothus (G.Johnston, 1838) is a species of sea slug, specifically a nudibranch. It is a shell-less marine gastropod mollusc that belongs to the family Polyceridae.

This species was first described from material collected at Prestonpans Bay, Firth of Forth, Scotland. After its original description, it has been reported ranging from the United Kingdom northward to Scandinavia, Russia, and Greenland. It has also been reported from the Pacific coast of Canada.

In the north-east Atlantic region, Palio nothus feeds on bryozoans that are part of the genus Bowerbankia. This species lays its eggs in a short, ribbon-like spiral structure.
