Paguristes frontalis is a species of hermit crab that belongs to the family Diogenidae. This species is referred to as left-handed, meaning its left claw is either larger than or equal in size to its right claw. Paguristes frontalis inhabits marine waters ranging from South Australia to Western Australia, and can be found in waters as shallow as 8 metres. The estimated body length of adult P. frontalis is 8 centimetres, and individuals are capable of carrying shells up to 15 centimetres long. This hermit crab commonly feeds on dead animals, but it may also catch and consume other crabs and other types of living prey.
