The snow petrel, Pagodroma nivea (G.Forster, 1777), is a small fulmarine petrel. It has entirely pure white plumage, distinct coal-black eyes, a small black bill, and bluish gray feet. Its body length measures 30–40 cm (12–16 in), and its wingspan ranges from 75–95 cm (30–37 in). Its flight pattern is erratic, with frequent changes of direction.
