About Paeromopus angusticeps (Wood, 1864)

Adult Paeromopus angusticeps have up to 80 body segments. They measure between 100 and 150 mm (3.9 to 5.9 inches) in length, and 5 to 7 mm (0.20 to 0.28 inches) in width. Their base body color is black or blue-black, marked with alternating brown bands; in some individuals, this banding is largely indistinct from the base color. Like other members of the family Paeromopodidae, its exoskeleton is covered in small parallel grooves called striations. Each side of the head has a patch of up to 30 ocelli that make up one eye.
