About Pachyta quadrimaculata (Linnaeus, 1758)

They have a black body and straw-yellow elytra marked with four large black spots, with two spots on each elytron. These two spots on a single elytron may occasionally fuse together, and some individuals only have one spot per elytron. The head and pronotum are long and covered in protruding yellow hairs. Both the elytra and pronotum are noticeably punctate. This species occurs in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Mongolia, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Central and Eastern European Russia, and extends east through Siberia, with the eastern edge of its range running along the Amur River. It is not found in the British Isles or the Netherlands. It inhabits coniferous forests and forest paths in Europe.
