About Pachypodium succulentum (L.fil.) Sweet

Scientific name: Pachypodium succulentum (L.fil.) Sweet. As its scientific name suggests, Pachypodium succulentum is defined by its thick, water-storing swollen stem base. Thin, nearly straight shoots grow out from this base, reaching approximately 1.6 feet in height. These shoots are covered in paired 0.8-inch thorns. Narrow, dark green, lanceolate leaves with visible venation grow on the upper sections of the shoots. The plant produces flowers that are either pink or white.
