About Oulactis magna (Stuckey, 1909)

Oulactis magna is a large sea anemone with a diameter between 10 and 12 centimetres. This species is best known for its vibrant coloration. Its central disc can be green, pink, blue, or brown; its tentacles are usually a different color than the central disc, and may be blue, mauve, orange or white. When submerged underwater, Oulactis magna extends up to 190 short, blunt tentacles. These tentacles have perforated tips that resemble warts, and will eject fine streams of water when the anemone is stimulated. The tentacles are arranged in four or more whorls, all of which are the same length.
