Oryzias javanicus, commonly known as the Javan ricefish or Javanese ricefish, is a small fish species that belongs to the Adrianichthyidae family. This species is found in Peninsular Thailand, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia, specifically on the islands of Java, Sumatra, Borneo, Sulawesi, Bali, and Lombok. It inhabits both brackish and fresh water, and can be found in ponds, ditches, mangroves, swamps, streams, and canals. Oryzias javanicus can reach a total length of 4.5 cm (1.8 in).
