Orsillus depressus is a species of seed bug belonging to the family Lygaeidae. It is a terrestrial insect originally native to southern Europe. It is classified as a naturalized introduced species in the United Kingdom. This species was first recorded in England during the 1980s, and is now common across all of central and southern England. In its native southern Europe, the host plants of Orsillus depressus are trees from the Cupressaceae family. In the UK, the most common host plant for this species is Lawson's cypress. Orsillus depressus reaches approximately 6 mm in length, and has a browny-orange coloration. Like many other species in the Lygaeidae family, Orsillus depressus is phytophagous, meaning it feeds on plants.
