About Oria musculosa Hübner, 1808

Technical description and variation of Oria musculosa Hübner, 1808 (previously cited under synonyms: nervosa Stph., flava Frr., frumentalis Lindem., flavescens Hmps.) (48 f). Forewings are whitish ochreous, suffused with yellowish tones. The paler ground colour appears as streaks along the wing folds and an oblique streak running from the apex to the end of the cell. At this location, the reniform spot is marked by a pale blotch with a grey spot at its lower end. Veins closer to the termen have a grey tinge. Hindwings are whitish, washed with grey, with darker veins. The form laeta Alph. is a small, pale yellowish variant found in Central Asia. The larva is pale greenish, with four evenly spaced dark lines that form spots on the anal segment. It has a red-brown head, a yellow thoracic plate, and black spiracles. The wingspan of this species ranges from 28 to 34 mm.
