About Oreta insignis (Butler, 1877)

Oreta insignis is a species of moth belonging to the family Drepanidae. This moth is distributed in Taiwan, China (including Hubei, Jiangxi, Hunan, Fujian, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou, Yunnan, and Tibet), and Japan. Its wingspan measures between 36 and 44 mm. Adult Oreta insignis are active on the wing in February and April. The larvae of this species feed on the leaves of Daphniphyllum glaucescens oldhamii var. oldhamii.
