About Opogona comptella (Walker, 1864)

Opogona comptella is a species of moth belonging to the Tineidae family. It occurs in New Zealand, and in Australia it ranges from southern Queensland to Tasmania. This moth has a wingspan of approximately 15 mm. As larvae, it feeds on the bark of Salix vitellina, as well as galls formed on two species of Acacia: galls of Acacia dealbata caused by the rust fungus Uromycladium tepperianum, and galls of Acacia melanoxylon caused by the fly Cecidomyia acaciaelongifoliae.
