About Opilio parietinus (DeGeer, 1778)
Opilio parietinus, described by DeGeer in 1778, is a species of harvestman that occurs in Europe and North America. It resembles O. canestrinii, but differs by having dark spots on its coxae and typically having a more grayish green overall coloration. Like O. canestrinii, O. parietinus was once commonly found on house walls throughout Central Europe. Today, however, O. parietinus has been almost completely replaced across this range by the invasive O. canestrinii.
