About Ophraella communa LeSage, 1986

Ophraella communa differs in size between the two sexes. Males grow to between 3.4 and 4.1 millimetres (0.13–0.16 inches) in length, while females reach 3.9–4.3 millimetres (0.15–0.17 inches). This species has a yellowish head marked with dark brown spots on the posterior region. Its body has a coarse punctured texture. The antennae are entirely dark brown. The pronotum is yellowish or pale brown, and carries three black or dark brown spots. The yellowish or pale brown elytra display distinct dark brown longitudinal stripes. This species is native to North America, where it occurs in Canada, the United States, and Mexico. It has since been introduced to both Asia and Europe, and it first arrived in Europe in 2013.
