About Ophioderma pendulum (L.) C.Presl

Ophioderma pendulum (L.) C.Presl is sometimes called the old-world adder's-tongue, and it is known as daun rambu in Malaysia. It is a fern belonging to the family Ophioglossaceae, and it is the type species of the genus Ophioderma. This species is most notable for the length of its pendant fronds: these fronds grow to up to 4.5 meters (14 feet 9 inches) long and 8 cm (three inches) wide, and are produced at intervals along a tree-clinging rhizome. Ophioderma pendulum is a common epiphyte in the East Indies.
