About Ophioblennius macclurei (Silvester, 1915)

Ophioblennius macclurei, commonly known as the redlip blenny, is a species of combtooth blenny. It is found living among coral reefs in the western Atlantic Ocean. This species can grow to a total length of 12.2 centimetres, which is equal to 4.8 inches. Its specific name honors American comparative anatomist and embryologist Charles Freeman Williams McClure (1865–1955), in recognition of his research on the lymphatic systems of fishes.
