About Onega bracteata Young, 1977

Onega bracteata is a rather large, compact sharpshooter, with a body length ranging from 13.8 to 15 mm. Females of this species are usually slightly larger than males. Its pronotum is wider than its head. The wing veination is distinct, but the veins themselves are not elevated. This species was first described based on specimens from Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, and Bolivia, where individuals have been collected in Andean locations at elevations of 2000 meters or more above sea level.
