About Onchidella floridana (Dall, 1885)

Onchidella floridana is a species of air-breathing sea slug. It is a shell-less marine pulmonate gastropod mollusk that belongs to the family Onchidiidae. This species is found in the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico. It was once very common throughout the shallow intertidal zone waters of Bermuda and the surrounding area. It has never been found on the rugged, storm-exposed Atlantic Ocean side of the island of Bermuda. In 1985, this species was observed, studied, and photographed by graduate students participating in the Marine Ecology Summer Program at the Bermuda Biological Station.
