Omphalotus mexicanus Guzmán & V.Mora is a gilled basidiomycete mushroom that belongs to the family Marasmiaceae. This species was first formally described as new to science in 1984. It is found in the highlands of Mexico and Central America, and its fruiting bodies have an unusual dark blue color tinted with yellow. The fruit bodies of Omphalotus mexicanus contain the toxic compounds illudin S and illudin M.
