About Oliva oliva (Linnaeus, 1758)
This species, Oliva oliva (Linnaeus, 1758), has shells that range in length from 19 mm to 46 mm. Shells are generally fusiform in shape, and their coloration is highly variable. Recorded shell colors include white, yellow, orange, cream, brown, and black. Patterns on the shells are also variable. Brown and black zig-zags, triangles, spots, and other small shapes appear on the shell surface. This is a marine species with a wide distribution, found from Southeast India into the Pacific Ocean.
