About Oligosoma polychroma (Patterson & Daugherty, 1990)
Oligosoma polychroma, commonly called the common skink or northern grass skink, is a species of skink native to New Zealand. Historically, this skink was classified as a subspecies of Oligosoma nigriplantare. However, available data confirms it is a distinct species, so it is generally recognized as a separate species today. This common skink is widespread across New Zealand, with a distribution ranging from Stewart Island up to the central part of the North Island.
