Oenothera perennis L. is a species of flowering plant belonging to the Onagraceae family, native to eastern United States and Canada. Common names for this species are little evening primrose, small sundrops, and small evening primrose. Its native habitats include shaly slopes, both moist and dry fields, pastures, and roadsides. Oenothera perennis is a perennial herb. It produces yellow flowers that open during the day and close at night. Each of its flowers has four petals, which are notched at the tip and have veins that radiate from the base.
