Boxlip mullet, whose scientific name is Oedalechilus labeo, is a species of ray-finned fish that belongs to the mullet family. This species is distributed in the eastern Atlantic, ranging from Gibraltar to Morocco, and it occurs in the Mediterranean Sea, but it is not present in the Black Sea. Oedalechilus is a monospecific genus, and Oedalechilus labeo is the only species classified within this genus.
