Oecanthus niveus is a small, distinctively colored tree cricket that lives on various plants and in man-made orchards.
Adult Oecanthus niveus individuals usually measure between 13 and 16 millimeters in body length. Their bodies are pale green, they have a pale orange head with an orange cap on top, and a distinct dark streak runs down the middle of their pronotum. This species can be found living on broad-leaved trees, herbaceous plants, and shrubbery, as well as in human-maintained man-made orchards.
