About Odorrana narina (Stejneger, 1901)

Odorrana narina, commonly known as the Ryukyu tip-nosed frog, Ryukyu Island frog, or Okinawa tip-nosed frog, is a species of frog that belongs to the family Ranidae. This species is endemic to Okinawa Island, which is part of the Ryukyu Islands of Japan. It can be found living in streams located within primary or well-recovered secondary broad-leaved evergreen forest, at elevations that reach up to 503 meters (1,650 feet). It faces threats from habitat loss and from predation by introduced small Indian mongooses, Herpestes auropunctatus.
