About Odontopyxis trispinosa Lockington, 1880
The pygmy poacher, scientifically named Odontopyxis trispinosa Lockington, 1880, is a species of poacher native to the eastern Pacific Ocean. It can be found along the North American coast, ranging from southern Alaska to northern Mexico. This species lives at depths between 9 metres (30 ft) and 373 metres (1,224 ft). It reaches a maximum total length of 9.5 centimetres (3.7 inches). It is commonly displayed in public aquariums, and it is the only known member of its genus Odontopyxis.
