About Odiellus spinosus (Bosc, 1792)

Odiellus spinosus is a species of harvestmen. Mature males of this species have a body length ranging from 6.5 to 8 millimetres, equal to 0.26 to 0.31 inches. Mature females are larger, with a body length of 7 to 11 millimetres, equal to 0.28 to 0.43 inches. This harvestman has three large, nearly flat spines positioned in front of its eyes; this trait is the source of the species' specific epithet 'spinosus'. It also has a saddle-shaped marking on its back with black edges. Additionally, its abdomen is noticeably flattened, and each abdominal tergite has several rows of brown spots across its surface.
