Its distribution includes Indonesia (Irian Jaya), Papua New Guinea, and Australia, where it occurs in New South Wales, the Northern Territory, Queensland, and Western Australia. Adults have a wingspan of approximately 15 mm. The larvae of this species feed on a variety of grasses.
