About Ocaria ocrisia (Hewitson, 1868)
Ocaria ocrisia, commonly known as the black hairstreak or Hewitson's blackstreak, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Lycaenidae. This species was first described by William Chapman Hewitson in 1868. Its distribution ranges from Mexico south through Brazil, Paraguay, Peru, Ecuador, to Argentina, and it has also been recorded in southern Arizona in the United States. It inhabits rainforest environments, found at altitudes between 200 and 900 meters. Adults have a wingspan of approximately 27 millimeters.
