About Nungia epigynalis Żabka, 1985
Nungia epigynalis, formally Nungia epigynalis Żabka, 1985, was first described by Marek Michał Żabka in 1985. The original description was based on a single female specimen that measured 6 millimetres (0.24 in) in total length; male individuals of the species were discovered after this initial description. The genus name of this species comes from the Nùng people, who live in Vietnam and China, while the specific epithet is derived from the term "epigyne". Female Nungia epigynalis have a light brown thorax, a greyish-yellow opisthosoma marked with longitudinal rows of grey spots. Their legs are yellow, with the exception of the stronger first pair of legs: this pair is light brown except for its distal segments. This species is found exclusively in Asia.
