Its branchlets are corky, and marked with prominent leaf scars. The tree has leathery, broadly egg-shaped leaves that grow in an alternate arrangement. Its foul-smelling, creamy yellow flowers are bisexual, roughly 5 millimeters across, and grow in flat-topped clusters at the ends of branches.
