Notela is a monotypic moth genus belonging to the family Notodontidae, commonly called the prominents. Its only known species is Notela jaliscana, which is found in North America. Both the genus Notela and the species Notela jaliscana were first described by William Schaus in 1901. The MONA, or Hodges, number for Notela jaliscana is 7960.
